Meet Our Community Schools Counselor
Hello my name is Jesus Muñoz. d a boy. I am from Los Angeles, California. I received my Masters Degree in School Counseling from USC! Fight on! This is my fifty hear being a counselor and my first year being at BMS full-time. In my free time my wife and I love to spend time outdoors and going on adventures with our dog named Penny. I am a big sports fan! I love to learn new things and I love coffee! I am so excited for this school year! I would love to meet you! Come say hello!

WHAT IS COMMUNITY SCHOOLS?
A community school is a “whole child” school support strategy. By working along the side of schools, families, and community we are able to support the student’s needs. This allows the child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
HOW WE SUPPORT STUDENTS
- SEL: Building self-confidence, support peer relationships and coping with challenging emotions
- Academic Support: Executive functioning skills, College and Career Readiness
- Student check-ins and small group counseling
- Building connections between home, school and the community
- Providing a safe space
HOW WE SUPPORT FAMILIES
- Connect families to local resources (food, housing, helathcare, etc)
- Host family workshops and events
- Partner with teachers, staff, and admin to support student success
